SYTYCD Weekend Challenge (Vanessa)

Here is my favorite dance from this week:

This group dance was choreographed by Mia Michaels, who I normally can't stand. But this dance was somewhat fascinating and I loved all the black and white patterns.

Here is the card I came up with:

Paper: White & Black

Stamps: Taggers Dozen, Print Pattern (soon to be retired) & Soft Swirls

Ink: White, Versamark, Black Embossing powder

Black, white, silver ribbon

SYTYCD Challenge (Shannon)

Here's mine...you might want to get your sunglasses on for this one. :) I chose Jessica & Will's disco from Wednesday as my inspiration.

Disco music has been a dear love of mine for many years now--and their gold and white costumes this week seriously made me freak out!
The BFF represents the angel wings on Will's back. :) Loved that little touch on his outfit!
Supplies. Stamps: Seriously Sassy, Aida cloth; Cardstock: Glossy White, Whisper White, Brushed Gold; Ink: Basic Black craft, VersaMark; Accessories: 2-way glue pen, gold glitz glitter, gold sequin, clear embossing powder.

Flower Card from Jaron (Shannon)

The Queens have been on a bit of a stamping haitus....we took last weekend off due to traveling, headaches, and busy-ness. So in the interim I've been saving this fabulous little card to post:
Jaron gave this to me awhile back--can't remmeber the occasion--probably just a "thanks" card for being able to work w/someone so amazing! :) These are flowers from the Pretties Kit that are watercolored and then folded over. Isn't it amazing?!? If you think so you can go to his junk drawer and tell him so.

SYTYCD Weekend Challenge (Shannon)

Another weekend...another challenge....here's Beate's template...
We decided to use So You Think You Can Dance as our inspiration this week because we were all so excited that it is back on!!! I chose Twitchington as my inspiration this week. I love both Twitch & Kherington and their broadway number was so much fun!! The dance starts around the 2:00 mark....

This card was so hard!! For some reason, it just wasn't turning out right and I had to try lots of different things. In the end, I was happy with it, only to have the picture not do it justice at all! I had to add a little bling (which there was polka dot bling on Twitch's tie) but then it doesn't even show in the picture (silver polka dots on the silver square of paper). Also I didn't intend for the feathers to look like a bird (sorry V). And yes, I did have to take my black boa apart---the things I sacrifice for my creativity! :)

Beate's SYTYCD Weekend Challenge (LeAnn)

I'm a little bummed that Rayven was the first girl eliminated this week. I LOVE that she is a ballerina and danced on pointe. I thought the reason she was eliminated was lame, although, I too wish her solo would have been on pointe--it would have made more of an impression. I love all types of dance but Ballet is one of my very favorite. I love the tradition, history, costumes, choreography, the pas de deux and the corps de ballet, and I enjoy that ballet tells a beautiful story. Ballet technique is really the basis for all other forms of dance. When I saw the opening of the last show, I loved Rayven's outfit and the color combination. I thought she looked very Parisian with the beret and tutu...a fabulous combination...Paris and Ballet. (Paris is after all the birthplace of ballet, which is probably why I like them both so much!)
Here is the video...she is towards the end.

Here is my card
Supplies: Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, and White card stock. VersaMark, and StazOn ink, SU markers. Paris in the Spring and Soft Swirls stamps.

Beate's SYTYCD Weekend Challenge (Vanessa)

My inspiration for Beate's Weekend Challenge comes from Will & Jessica's Tango. In case you missed SYTYCD this past week, here is their dance:
(You will see that dance @ 2:16)

I don't think I have ever used so much glitter in my entire life! Shannon will be so proud!

Paper: Black

Stamp: Soft Swirls

Ink & Glitter: Versamark, White Craft, Romantic Red Glitter, Dazzling Diamonds

Real Red Ribbon & SU Chipboard Star

I loved Shannon's awesome idea to pair up Beate's Challenge with SYTYCD as our inspiration! Can't wait to watch next week to see my new fave dance and make a card along with it!

LeAnn's B-day (Shannon)

Ok so I'm a little later than Vanessa....but I too made a card for LeAnn for her b-day....here it is....
I just love the new Fresh Cuts satmp set and coordinating notes!!! Of course i had to incorporate an Eiffel Tower into her card-since she is my Eiffel Tower loving kindred spirit!

And this is my color inspiration for the card--I got this from Real Simple and just loved the monochromaticness of it all--would never think of putting these colors together but love they way the look!!!

I used Purely Pom, Real Red & Regal Rose. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEANN!!!!! I hope tomorrow is a wonderful day!

Beate's Father's Day Weekend Challenge (Shannon)

It's time for another weekend challenge from Beate....here's the template....
This weekend, we used Father's Day as our additional inspiration...so you can see how each of us have interpreted this challenge in a different way. Amanda joined us this weekend!!! YAY AMANDA!
Here's my creation:
I used a picture of a shower curtain from 'The Company Store' magazine. Stamps: Headline alpha, mini alpha; Paper: Bashful Blue, Really Rust, So Saffron, Old Olive DSP (retired pack--can't remember the name); Ink: So Saffron & Really Rust; Accessories: 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain.

Beate's Weekend Challenge (Amanda)

I know...I know...you are all in shock.
After being threatened by V to maintain my membership as a Stampin' Queen,
here I am.  : )

Supplies:   Lovely Labels SU stamp set (love this set)
Paper - not sure
(The closest thing I could find to being somewhat masculine.)
Need to buy some fly-fishing or campin' sets I guess.

Beate's Weekend Challenge (Vanessa)

I found this shirt pattern here. Cambria has a step by step tutorial on how to fold the shirt. We did a card similar to this at our YW activity last week. I think the girls liked it (you just never know with 14 year olds!)

Paper: SU Close to Cocoa, Making Memories Cosmopolitan Collection

Embellishments: Making Memories stickers to glitter, Making Memories ribbon, SU glitter.

(not a lot of SU product, sorry Shannon!)

Beate's Father's Day Weekend Challenge (LeAnn)

Here is my take on this weeks challenge plus father's day. I didn't have any masculine stamps, so I used a star punch.
Supplies: Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue card stock. Print pattern background stamp. Making Memories patterned paper and letters. Star punch.

Beate's SEXY Weekend Challenge (Shannon)

This past Friday, Vanessa, LeAnn & I went to see Sex & the City. It was totally amazing...but I digress...after the movie, we were talking about doing Beate's challenge this weekend and we decided we would use her template, AND use the movie as additional inspiration for our creations.

So here's this weekend's template:
The movie was packed with amazing outfits, handbags, and accessories that I could hardly choose....this outfit was the winner b/c it was on some of the promos and everytime I saw it--I fell in love all over again! :)
So here's my card...
What do you think? Does it look like the outfit?

Supplies: Very Vanilla & Basic Black card stock & a gold envelope (flower); A Beautiful Thing & Background Sampler stamp sets; Regal Rose & Basic Black ink; Regal Rose 5/8" ribbon, Pretties Kit & black embossing powder.

Beate's SEXY Weekend Challenge (LeAnn)

There were so many color inspirations from the movie, it was hard to settle on one....
I finally went with the opening title and posters from the movie....
Supplies: Pixie Pink and Black card stock. Versa mark, heat & stick powder, black embossing, stamping up glitter. Baroque and Headline Alphabet stamps.

Beate's SEXY Weekend Challenge (Vanessa)

Here are my favorite outfits from the movie:
Here is my interpretation through a card:

Paper: Brilliant Blue (Miranda), Black (Charlotte), White (Carrie) & Rose Red Prints (Samantha) Samantha's dress seems really orange to me in this picture. It seemed more red in the movie. Rose Red was the best I could do. . .and I was out of Ruby Red!

Ink: Versamark with black embossing powder and glitter

Stamp: All About You

Embellishments: Lots of Glitter! And a white ribbon.
